Dr Tania Stuart
Dentist

Tania graduated from Otago Dental School in 1984. Initially she worked on the North Shore in private practice before buying her own practice in Point Chevalier. The pressures of family life meant she sold that in 2001 and worked part- time in the central city. In 2012 and 2013, she was very happily in Central Otago working part time in a rural practice in Alexandra. Returning to Auckland she has worked at the Devonport Naval Base and the Fono as well as Eden Dental Centre, where she has now worked exclusively since 2017.

Believing in being a life-long learner, Tania has completed postgraduate qualifications in Healthcare Ethics at AUT (2017) and Community Dentistry at Otago University (2022). She was involved with two large scale epidemiological studies of the oral health in New Zealand looking at firstly the general population and subsequently of older peoples’ oral health in 2009 and 2013 respectively. Tania has been on the executive and president of the Auckland Branch of NZ Dental Association and is involved in the teaching of younger dentists in the area of intravenous sedation. She also offers intravenous sedation which is an excellent option for anxious patients or those who need surgical procedures. Clinically, she believes strongly in developing a professional relationship with patients over the years to ensure the best treatment scheme for each individual.
