COVID-19 Alert Level 3 Update: Eden Dental Open for Urgent Treatment Only

Posted by:

Dear Clients and friends of Eden Dental Centre

With the announcement that Auckland is moving to Alert Level  3 on  Wednesday 22nd September we confirm Eden Dental Centre is open for emergency and urgent dental treatment.  While this is not much of a change from Alert level 4 we are a step closer to Level 2 which is dentistry at a more normal level.

We are happy to inform you that ALL staff are fully vaccinated at Eden Dental Centre. Our dental teams will be working in separate bubbles to restrict their exposure to as few members as possible. All surfaces and touch points are fully sanitised between patients, including all surgery surfaces, reception surfaces, handrails and door handles. If we are performing emergency dental treatment creating aerosols we will be wearing full medical grade personal protective equipment (PPE) inside the treatment room. Unfortunately, the combined effects of short supply and rising costs have impacted significantly on our PPE costs. We have had to add a PPE charge onto all patient appointments at Level 3. Your dentist will advise you of what this amount is, prior to your appointment.

If you require urgent or emergency treatment: toothache with or without swelling in your mouth or on your face, fractured teeth, infected wisdom teeth, or bleeding either from trauma or an extraction we have completed then please call our landline on 09 373 5141 to access our dentists’ contact numbers.

We will be conducting assessments over the phone to determine the appropriate treatment you need and will be reviewing your general health as well as asking you a series of covid screening questions. We will request you come alone to your dental appointment if possible and wear a face mask. We ask that you remain in your car in the carpark and call us when you have arrived (09 373 5141). This is to ensure there is no overlap between patients. A staff member will come down to you, check your temperature and escort you into the treatment room.  We will provide you with hand sanitiser to use on entry and exit from the practice and we will provide you with a mask should you forget to bring one.

In line with government regulations, you MUST scan in using the Covid-19 tracing app either at the entry door or in reception. If you are unable to do this we will fill out the manual form at reception on your behalf.

Dental practices are experts in infection control! We hope this helps to reassure you of the measures taken to protect you, our patient, and in doing so help prevent any further spread of Covid-19.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email us at edendentalcentre@gmail.com.

We hope you and your families are staying safe and healthy during this time. Thank you for your patience and support and we look forward to seeing you when we can reopen (normal dentistry resumes at Alert Level 2).

Kind regards and kia kaha
