COVID-19 Alert Level 3 Update: Eden Dental Open For Urgent Treatment

Posted by:

Firstly a huge thankyou to all our patients who have been very understanding and accepting of the conditions and limitations that the Level 4 lockdown has imposed on our practice. It is very hard for us not to have you coming to the clinic and practising from a distance is a lot less enjoyable for us.

On Monday the government announced we will move to level 3 on Tuesday 28th April. We are pleased to confirm Eden Dental Centre will reopen for urgent and emergency dental treatment next week. We are awaiting updated guidelines from the New Zealand Dental Council as to the detail around the services we can offer, we’ll keep you posted. You can contact us ideally by email (see below) or by phoning the practice on 09 3735141

To those of you who have been in contact and been placed on prescriptions, we anticipate treating you next week. We will be contacting you later this week to schedule a treatment appointment.  Those who haven’t contacted us but have issues you are concerned about: broken or sensitive teeth, gum infections  or similar please contact us by email edendentalcentre@gmail.com or phone 09 373 5141 and listen to the message. Feel free to contact Lisa Wadsworth or Tania Stuart whose cellphone numbers are on the answerphone, for advice. If you have family members or friends who have issues please pass on our contact details. We are happy to accept new patients at this time. Unnecessary delays for some dental issues can lead to more complications, which we would rather avoid.

Last but by no means least, your health and safety, and also that of the Eden Dental Centre staff is of the utmost importance. What we did pre lockdown was already extremely safe, now we are stepping up to the next level.

Wherever possible we will be maintaining social distancing and keeping any movement outside the treatment room contactless. When it comes to urgent treatment creating aerosols we will be wearing personal protective equipment. This has been extremely difficult to find, the supply is scarce. The good news is we have managed to source some!

Some treatments will incur an extra fee to cover the cost of the PPE which we must wear to protect ourselves and you, our patients. This fee will be discussed with you before you come in for treatment.

Once an appointment has been scheduled we will send you a more detailed email of how your visit will look so you know what to expect.

We thank you for your patience and understanding in what has been and will continue to be a challenging time for all of us.

Kindest regards and please stay safe
